Chief Clayton Pyle
A good friend and member of Chapter 858, Chief Clayton Pyle, has passed away. Information about his funeral is as follows:
Pyle (CMSgt USAF Ret), Clayton C. "Chief" age 75 of Bloomington. Preceded in death by father, Clifford C. & mother, Hazel M. Pyle. Survived by loving wife of 54 years, Betty M. (Vogt) Pyle; 4 daughters, Cherie (Ed) Pung, Sally (Mark) McMahon, Bobbie Pyle, and Traci Pyle, all are college graduates and born while he was in the US military; 4 grandchildren, Krista, Erik, Colin and Brady; great-grandson, Jordan. Chief served in 2 branches of service, US Navy and US Air Force in both Korea and Vietnam under two US flags with 48 stars and 50 stars. After military retirement he worked for a company in Bloomington for 10 years and then with a partner in his own business where they developed 2 US patents. After a final retirement he started another career volunteering for homeless veterans in MN. He then switched volunteering to the youth in Military uniform and aviation which led to his induction into the MN Aviation Hall of Fame in 2003. He always had a great vision for youth in uniform. In lieu of flowers, memorial preferred to the Fort Snelling Memorial Rifle Squad. Funeral Service Saturday, Dec. 17, 11 AM at St. Mark's United Church of Christ, 8630 Xerxes Ave S, Bloomington. Visitation 1 hour prior to service at the church and Friday, Dec. 16, 4-7 PM at: Washburn-McReavy Werness Chapel 2300 W. Old Shakopee Road Bloomington 952-884-8145.
